Weather, an intangible and complex phenomenon composed of elements like precipitation and temperature, becomes more understandable when broken down into manageable, interactive components. Our collaborative project between Georgia Tech and the Children's Museum of Atlanta, developed by students in the "Designing for Curiosity" course, leverages musical play to enhance engagement, curiosity, and retention of ideas through embodied interaction. This innovative exhibit features a large window display depicting changing weather conditions, which can be interactively controlled using three musical instruments—a set of cymbals, a rain stick, and a xylophone. Each instrument corresponds to a different weather element, offering a hands-on learning experience that simplifies the complexity of weather phenomena. Targeted at children aged 3-8, the exhibit fosters creativity and learning through play, demonstrating how modern museums can spark educational curiosity and innovation by integrating interactive technology.
